Neighborhood Safety

Everyone wants to have a safe neighborhood. Two key elements in neighborhood safety are an active Neighborhood Watch and Reporting issues.

Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is one of the most effective ways to build a safe and healthy neighborhood. With the Neighborhood Watch program:

  • Neighbors work together to reduce and prevent crime
  • Neighbors are an extra set of eyes and ears for reporting suspicious and criminal activity
  • Neighborhood Watch groups partner with local law enforcement

The Veterans Park Neighborhood Association is coordinating the establishment of neighborhood watch groups covering the VPNA. If you would like to participate please contact us.

For a good overview of Boise’s Neighborhood Watch program please see the Neighborhood Watch website.

Code Compliance, Parking Issues and Abandoned Vehicles

Ensuring the City’s Ordinances and Zoning are followed is termed Code Compliance and is an important element in neighborhood safety. You can learn more at the City’s Code Compliance website.

You are encouraged to submit complaints to the City if you experiencing problems with people living in RVs, abandoned vehicles, accumulation of junk or garbage, parking problems and more.

You can file a Code Compliance Complaint or Abandoned Vehicle Complaint online (its essentially the same process for both). You will need to register on the City’s website (once you click one of the previous links, you will see a “register” button near the top of right of the resulting page). Once you are registered and logged in, click the “Request” link in the menu at the very top of the page, and select either Code Compliance or Abandoned Vehicle. Please follow the instructions.

You can also submit a complaint via email or phone. Please see the below image for additional information. NOTE: the links do not work in this image. You will need to type them in.
