Volunteer

Volunteering with VPNA is a great way to build community and strengthen our neighborhood. Here are a few ways you can volunteer your time.

JOIN A COMMITTEE: Committees focus on a specific issue or project including…

VOLUNTEER FOR A SPECIFIC NEED: No matter what your skills we can find the right fit for you. However, we do have some specific areas where we need help. Please contact us if you want to get involved!

Specific needs include:

  • Contact neighbors and local businesses to make them aware of the work of the association.
  • Manage VPNA contact database
  • Advocate for VPN by attending meetings of city council, ACHD, etc.
  • Design VPNA print materials
  • Help plan VPNA social and fundraising events
  • Write content for VNPNA website, promotional materials and newsletter
  • Help write Neighborhood Reinvestment Grants to the City of Boise to implement positive changes in our neighborhood
  • Research the unique history of the neighborhood.

JOIN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS: The VPNA Board of Directors includes Officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) and Chairs of each sub-neighborhood. Each sub-neighborhood can have up to two Chairs representing itself.

The time commitment of being a board member is mostly up to the individual. At a minimum we’d like new members to attend most monthly board meetings (held the 3rd Monday of each month at Idaho River Sports from 6:30-8pm). If you choose to get involved outside of board meetings, what you do is also left open to personal choice.
